Sim HQ
Log the runs you rail, link your Steam account, and carry your virtual miles and your layout onto one verified profile. Virtual miles never mix with real passenger miles — they aggregate into your LopoRail level.
Sim HQ turns what you run in a rail simulator into verified provenance: logged runs, checked mileage, and a place on the board. It is not a game engine — it sits alongside your simulator and records what you did.
Virtual miles are their own thing. They never blend into real passenger miles; they aggregate only into your LopoRail level and badge shelf, each with its own lane icon.
- Log a run in any supported simulator — the board itself is open to everyone.
- Every run is validated in the background, so the numbers mean something.
- Points accumulate across the whole site, not just here.
- File a run. Open the Conductor Log and record the simulator, route, locomotive, distance, session length and timetable adherence.
- It validates in the background. Nothing is accepted instantly — the anti-cheat engine checks the run before it can count.
- Verified runs earn miles and points. Only runs that pass verification reach the board and your totals.
- Points become badges. They accumulate into your level and the Inspector milestones below, and feed the wider LopoRail badge board.
Verification is a fixed rule set, not a judgement call. Every title is judged against its own envelope:
- 48-hour window — a run must be filed within two days of finishing, so runs cannot be stockpiled and dumped.
-
Velocity envelope — each simulator has a ceiling based on what it simulates:
- High-speed corridor — 150 mph
- Mainline — 110 mph
- Heavy freight — 80 mph
- Heritage / branchline — 60 mph
- Layout / short-line — 40 mph
- Steep grades — a traction class cannot hold an implausible speed over a known ruling grade.
- No double-booking — two sessions cannot occupy the same time window.
- Adjudicated once — a run is only ever decided on a single time.

Questions
Why is logging Premium?
The leaderboard, guides and badge shelf are open to everyone. Filing runs and moderating are Premium so throwaway accounts cannot flood or weaponise the queue.
What counts as a verified run?
One that passes the four rules above: inside the 48-hour window, within the simulator velocity envelope, physically possible over any known grade, and not overlapping another session.
Is my data safe?
Any Steam token is encrypted at rest and never leaves the server. Your runs are yours.
Can I leave the leaderboard?
Yes. Leaving anonymously keeps your miles on the board under a random pseudonym and detaches your name — your Steam link is removed too.
