3 days every 5 minutes train from Amsterdam Centraal to Zandvoort
Extensive surgery
During the race weekend, NS expects to bring around 50,000 passengers to the event and back home every day. To steer this in the right direction, more than 300 additional colleagues are working every day to support travellers and promote the flow. This is an extensive operation, as normally only two to four trains per hour run between Zandvoort and Haarlem.
For NS, it’s all hands on deck. It is a holiday period, also for some of the NS colleagues. In addition to the Dutch Grand Prix, there are other events such as Lowlands in Biddinghuizen. In addition, ProRail is working on the track at various locations in the country. NS has therefore had to adjust the timetable throughout the country. So that most trains run where most passengers are expected. This includes, among other things, taken into account recurring commuters and event visitors.
Saturday Sprint Race
This year, there will be a sprint race on Saturday at 12 noon. For this purpose, NS, in collaboration with the Dutch Grand Prix, is driving five extra early Intercity trains from various directions to Amsterdam.
During the Formula 1 weekend, for the sixth and final year, we are once again doing everything we can to bring as many racing fans as possible by train to Zandvoort. This year is even more exciting with the early sprint race on Saturday. That is why we are going the extra mile here with the use of very early trains and an attractive fare for the early birds. Fans who want to attend the sprint race, we call at least before 9.30 am on Amsterdam To be central.

Tips for travellers
NS advises passengers throughout the country to consult the travel planner before departure and to take enough time because of the extra hustle and bustle. Buying tickets online in advance prevents queues. Travellers without a season ticket or OV chip card/OV pass can also check in and out with their debit card. Due to the large crowds, bicycles cannot be taken on trains to Amsterdam until 1 pm. This applies all day between Amsterdam and Zandvoort. SeeDedicated webpagefor more information.
