Sometimes the signaling system shows that a train is on the track even though it is not, because something is wrong with the track. Then we cannot run the train until we have found the fault. That is the situation on the Gjøvik Line now. In railway parlance we call it a blockage orghost train Safety always comes first and we must keep the section closed until it is safe to run trains and the system gives the green light.
– Occasionally, such errors can cause irregular effects in several places on a section of track, and come and go, and that makes troubleshooting demanding. We are experiencing that now, and it makes it challenging because we do not see exactly where the error is, says acting regional director at Bane NOR, Lars Rugtvedt.
– Our experts are working hard, in collaboration with the contractor, to find what the fault is. This is a complex and extensive task that involves several disciplines, and we cannot yet say what the cause is, says acting area director Lars Rugtvedt at Bane NOR. – Everyone is committed to solving this as quickly as possible.
Train traffic between Oslo S and Hakadal will be closed, and Vy will continue with alternative transport between Roa and Oslo S until Saturday, September 19 at 4:00 a.m. The next update will be on September 16 at 4:00 p.m.
