Jørgen Langhelle Pedersen becomes Executive Vice President for People and Organization at Bane NOR

Jørgen Langhelle Pedersen has now been appointed as Executive Vice President for People and Organization at Bane NOR.

CEO Agnete Johnsgaard-Lewis is pleased to have appointed a leader who knows both the business and the social mission well.

– We have conducted a thorough recruitment process with many strong candidates. Jørgen has shown that he combines solid leadership experience, good business understanding and a strong commitment to people and organizational development. I am very pleased that he has accepted the role, she says.

Long-term development cycles

In the coming years, Bane NOR will undergo major development. New technology, changing working methods and the need for critical railway expertise make organizational development a strategically important area.

For Jørgen, the role is about creating a good framework for employees and managers throughout the business.

– If we are to succeed in our social mission, we must continue to develop both the organization and the way we work. Technology and new ways of working will be important drivers, but it is the people who make the difference. I look forward to helping Bane NOR have the expertise, culture and leadership needed to meet the challenges of the future, he says.

Valuable operational experience

He emphasizes that the experiences from the operational part of the business have provided valuable insight into what is required to deliver on the social mission every single day.

– I have had the pleasure of working closely with many talented colleagues over the years. It has given me great respect for the breadth of expertise that exists at Bane NOR. Now I look forward to building on that foundation together with employees and managers across the entire business.

Jørgen Langhelle Pedersen has a background in the aviation industry. He was Director of Operations (Airside Operations) in SAS Ground Handling at Oslo Airport Gardermoen until 2013. He then joined Avinor, where he was Head of Resource Management and HR from 2013 to 2020. He was also Director of Operations for Unibuss from 2020 to 2023. At Bane NOR, he was Director of Traffic Management in the Traffic Division until 1 June 2026. He has since been acting asonserndirektør for Mennesker og organisasjon og tiltrer nå formelt i stillingen som konserndirektør for   området.

Konsernfunksjonen Mennesker og organisasjon har et sentralt ansvar for å sikre at Bane NOR har riktig kompetanse, en effektiv organisering og engasjerte medarbeidere som kan bidra til selskapets videre utvikling.
