This licence is the framework under which a train, tram, metro, light-rail or heritage operator ("you", "the Operator") gives LopoRail ("we", "us") permission to display your information and branding on the platform. It is the page referenced by our operator outreach as the "Operator Data Licence". It is deliberately simple and revocable — you can withdraw it at any time.
1. What this licence covers
1.1 Directory profile — your name, brand and logo, network and routes, stations served, and the contact and marketing information you ask us to show, on your page in the Operator Directory.
1.2 Operational information — timetables, service patterns, and live service status shown on your profile and on our station boards.
1.3 Fleet formations — permission to feature your rolling-stock formations (class, unit, and coach compositions), credited to you.
1.4 Branding — your name, logo and wordmark displayed on your profile and, where relevant, alongside the data you supply.
1.5 Photographs and media — photographs, images and other media you supply for your listing, credited to you.
2. The licence you grant
2.1 You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and — only as needed to operate the platform — adapt the material in section 1, for as long as this licence is in force.
2.2 The licence is revocable: you may withdraw it at any time (section 6). On withdrawal we stop displaying the material and remove it within a reasonable period.
2.3 Your trademarks, copyright and database rights remain yours. We use your name and marks descriptively, to identify you; displaying them does not imply endorsement, partnership, sponsorship or official affiliation unless we agree that in writing.
3. Credit and accuracy
3.1 We credit sources on the surface where they appear; see our Data Sources & Attribution policy.
3.2 You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you supply. We present it as supplied and do not alter its substance — only formatting to fit the site.
4. Your directory page
4.1 You may claim and manage your profile (free). Verified operators are given controls to keep their page current; see our Marketplace Vendor Verification Terms for how verification works.
4.2 We may remove or correct content that breaches our content standards or the law.
5. Selling through LopoRail
5.1 Where you sell tickets, experiences, merchandise or other items through LopoRail (including heritage ticketing and our marketplace), we charge a seller-side commission of 10% of the item price. The commission does not apply to shipping. It is shown to you before an item goes live and retained from the proceeds at settlement — see our Marketplace Fee Terms.
5.2 Funds may be held in escrow and released under the applicable terms; a fully refunded order is not commissionable.
5.3 Giveaways and promotions you run with us are governed by our Giveaway terms.
6. Withdrawal
6.1 You may withdraw this licence at any time by contacting us. We will stop showing your material and remove it within a reasonable period. Material already copied into third-party caches or search indexes may take longer to disappear; we make reasonable efforts to have it removed.
7. Data protection
7.1 Where this licence involves personal data (for example the details of a named press or partnerships contact), we handle it in line with our Privacy Policy. Organisations with their own data-use questions can see our Heritage Organisations — Data Use & Your Rights notice where relevant.
